KFC Holiday Hours (2026)

Festive table with a bucket of fried chicken and warm string lights

KFC holiday hours do not come from a single corporate table, because KFC does not publish one — each restaurant is franchised and sets its own schedule. What we can give you is the documented pattern and a reliable way to check your own store. This page was compiled Oct 20, 2026 from a reading of KFC’s own store pages covering thousands of US locations, and it says clearly where the evidence is strong and where it runs out. No prices are the point here, but our standing note still applies to anything you order after reading: Prices are DoorDash delivery prices — in-store unverified, typically 10–30% less.

The pattern across KFC’s own store pages

Occasion	Typical pattern
Thanksgiving Day	Most locations closed
Christmas Day	Most locations closed
Most other holidays	Most locations open
Typical trading hours	Roughly 10 AM – 10/11 PM

That table summarizes what a large read of KFC’s own store listings shows — the dataset was built from the store pages of 3,702 US restaurants, which makes it the strongest evidence available short of KFC publishing a corporate policy. Two days stand out: Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, when most locations close. On most other holidays — the likes of Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day — most locations in the dataset were open. Typical hours cluster around 10 AM to 10 or 11 PM. Treat every line as a strong tendency, not a promise about your store.

The honest caveats

Two things keep us from printing a neat national table. First, hours are franchise-set, so an individual owner can close on a day the pattern says open, or trade shorter hours — travel corridors and small towns differ. Second, sources conflict on Thanksgiving specifically: some secondary listings claim many KFCs open for limited hours that day, while the store-page dataset points to most locations being closed. When sources disagree, we go with the larger, primary dataset — KFC’s own store pages — but the disagreement itself is worth knowing before you drive anywhere. The safe move on any holiday is the check below, which takes under a minute.

How to check your KFC’s holiday hours

Use KFC’s own store locator on kfc.com and pull up your exact restaurant — its page carries that store’s hours, including holiday adjustments when the owner posts them. Checking the same store inside the KFC app or on DoorDash works too, and has a bonus: if the store is taking delivery orders, it is open, and the prices there match our KFC delivery guide. For holiday feeding plans, order ahead where the app allows it rather than gambling on a walk-in. If chicken falls through entirely, our Thanksgiving dinner to go guide covers chains that sell full holiday meals, and the KFC menu prices hub has the regular menu priced for the days KFC is open.

Frequently asked questions

Is KFC open on Thanksgiving Day?

Most locations are closed, according to a reading of KFC’s own store pages across 3,702 US restaurants. Some secondary sources conflict on this, so check your exact store’s page before relying on it either way.

Is KFC open on Christmas Day?

Most locations are closed on Christmas Day per the same store-page dataset. Christmas Eve hours vary by store and are often shorter — check your location.

Is KFC open on Christmas Eve?

Many locations open but on reduced hours. Hours are franchise-set, so there is no national Christmas Eve schedule — your store’s own listing is the only reliable source.

Is KFC open on Easter?

Easter falls under the dataset’s “most other holidays” pattern: most locations open, typically around 10 AM to 10 or 11 PM. Individual stores can differ.

Is KFC open on July 4th?

Most locations, yes — July 4th is in the “most other holidays, most locations open” pattern from KFC’s store pages. Holiday hours may still be trimmed at some stores.

Is KFC open on New Year’s Day?

Most locations follow the usual pattern of being open on holidays other than Thanksgiving and Christmas. Expect roughly standard hours, and confirm with your store.

What are KFC’s normal opening hours?

Typically around 10 AM to 10 or 11 PM across the store pages in the dataset, but there is no chain-wide standard — each franchise sets its own schedule.

Why doesn’t KFC publish one holiday hours table?

Because the restaurants are independently owned franchises. KFC corporate does not set a single schedule, so the hours live on each store’s own page instead.

How can I check my local KFC’s holiday hours?

Open your store’s page through the locator on kfc.com, or check the store in the KFC app or DoorDash. If it is accepting orders for a time slot, it is open then.

Does KFC sell a Thanksgiving meal?

KFC does not run a traditional Thanksgiving dinner program in the pattern data we reviewed — its holiday relevance is mostly whether stores are open. Chains that do sell full holiday dinners are covered in our Thanksgiving dinner to go guide.
